British EBF 2022 developmental programme headlined by Gr.1 winner

10% of the winners of British EBF flat races covering Class 1 -3 went on to become Black Type winners’ in 2022.
From a group of 110 races carrying EBF contributions of £5,000 or more, 11 individual Black Type winners emerged, including the Gr.1 winning THE PLATINUM QUEEN. Run for a total prize money value of £4,500,485, 26% of which was provided directly from the British EBF (£1,168,500). Funded by earnings contributions from British based stallions, every pound of EBF money is used above the BHA Minimum Value, enhancing prize money by up to £15,000 per race.
A comprehensive programme of EBF Listed, Conditions and high value Fillies’ Handicaps provide regular developmental opportunities for trainers to target. Year after year, these races see horses go on to win big on the domestic and international stage and this one has been no different.
The list comprises 4 Listed winners, 5 Gr.3 winners; Gr.2 Joel Stakes winner MUTASAABEQ and Gr.1 Prix de l’Abbey heroine THE PLATINUM QUEEN. The latter won the £50,000 Alice Keppel Conditions Stakes at the Qatar Goodwood Festival, a race still in its infancy and made possible only with the support of the British EBF. Notably, many of the Black Type winners on the list, 7 of the 11, came to their success via wins at regional racetracks, including Thirsk, Hamilton, Carlisle, Ripon, Salisbury and Leicester.
